Alex is a relentless champion for Philadelphia and the people in it. He Co-founded Indy Hall in 2006 and is a member/leader of independent business and creative communities. His focus on the long lasting value of building trusting relationships makes him a great fit on our board. He's excited about his new position here at Hive76 and looks forward to helping build a bigger and stronger community with in it.

<em>Steph</em> - Is pleased as punch to serve on the board. She's a Unix/Linux admin by trade, treehugger by training, and tinkerer by habit. She will preach about environmental justice and appropriate technology indefinitely if you let her, and alternately scowls at gratuitous gadgets, and jumps up and down at provably cool tech. She like bikes, plants, homebrew, diy renewable energy, Brazilian pop, Philadelphia, and figuring out what the heck polymerization has to do with natural wood finishes. With any luck, she'll soon graduate from the 2010 Master Gardener program through the PSU Cooperative Extension, and finish up her Master of Environmental Studies at Penn (for which she's doing a study about electronic waste), at which time you may call her "mistress."
Erin is the owner of her own Full-Stack Web development firm which focuses on accessibility development and section 508 compliance. In addition to her accessibility firm, Erin has experience in helping small businesses and non-profits to scale up. She knows the ins and outs of taking missions in new directions and expanding services. Erin offers her knowledge of non-profit development models to Hive76 so that we can continue to grow.

<em>Far McKon</em> - A loud mouth and general instigator, and is a founder of Hive76. He is often the first one jumping of bridges, and and can convincing others to follow. 87.4% percent of the time he is correct about landing on [http://images.google.com/images?q=stay%20puff%20marshmallow%20man%20giant%20marshmallows stay puff marshmallow man giant marshmallows] at the end of the fall. 12.6% of the time the landing is just deep (sometimes hot) water. When he is not coding or building stuff, he's coding and building stuff.  Far has co-founded a Housing Cooperative, a City Wiki, 2 hackerspaces, and 1,000 weird and wonderful friendships.

<em>Jack Zylkin</em> -  A founder of Hive76,  Jack is an inventor who makes laser trip-wires, tesselated puzzles, synaesthetic synthesizers, manual cnc machines, and the like.   He graduated Drexel University with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 2008 but is old for his age.  He cares deeply about conserving fossil fuels.  His interests include bicycles, jazz fusion, chinese food, and funny hats.  He has taught classes for Hive76 and the Hacktory concerning chocolate mold-making, talking gift cards, singing pencils, and DIY guitar pedals. Kyle is a DevOps Engineer at QVC, maintaining systems for the 9th largest eCommerce site in the US. Using his immense I.T. powers for good, he is a staffer at FOSSCON, the Free and Open Source Software conference. Kyle has a lot of great connections in the Philly tech scene, his years of experience with FOSSCON and QVC have made him a great asset when it comes to planning and logistics.

- We need to get an update, etc. Where we stand, and what to do next.
- Sean (Shn Brdy shnbrdy@) has volunteered to help with this, he says: "As far as grants and tax exemption. I know of two quality organizations that would Fiscal Sponsor until Hive is approved by IRS. Grants can move ahead as there are sources that don't require."
3) Voting Policy
- The group is not turning out to be a consistent showing for
every-other-Wednesday meetings.  We should talk over and recommend a
better way to handle voting, since at this point the slow voting (and
missing votes) is slowing down the organisation.   We may want to go
digital, move more discretion decision power into the Officers, or do
something even smarter.

When is our next officer election?  Our officership has been A-OK, but
a bit erratic (myself included).  Sometimes very active, sometimes a
bit slow to respond. We should talk over what we can do to make it
more consistent and even keeled.

From The List: "To move towards incorporation, we will need a board of directors. A Board of Directors is 5-8 people that meet 4 - 6 times a year, for 6-8 hours (a day). They review what the group is up to as a whole, and advise/review/grow. I think this meeting should be followed by a party, but that's just my$0.02. I'd say 2-3 of the people should be non Hive members who have an outside view on things. Elected every other year, or when someone steps down."
