Hive's Galvo Laser

Hive76 is the proud steward of a new Omtech "Galvo Compact 30" 1065nm. This laser has a 5.9" x 5.9" engraving field with the factory lens.

Safety

This laser is VERY CAPABLE of seriously injuring you. ALWAYS make sure the enclosure is closed (work in progress). In the VERY RARE instance the enclosure cannot be closed, ensure the door to the room is closed, and that anyone in the radiation / reflection area is wearing APPROPRIATELY RATED laser glasses. The machine came with one set, so if more than one set is found, be suspicious.

Use

To run the laser, you MUST be using a design that can be imported into LightBurn. This includes PNG, JPGs (raster drawings to be traced), DXF, PDF, SVG, Illustrator files, etc. (vector containers.)

Power On Steps

0. Turn on fume extraction and ensure all baffles are open to get maximum airflow.

1. Remove lens cap from unit.

2. Put on safety glasses if not already being worn.

3. Turn on unit using switch at back of machine.

4. Insert and turn key to right to enable laser source power.

Note Note:  The laser is capable of framing without the source on. If you cannot get the machine to successfully laze, check the keyswitch.

Before Lasing

0. use Framing menu to ensure outline of shape is correct and scaled appropriately.

1. Use focusing adjust via knob to move the red dot area into the focal length.

2. CLOSE THE DOOR TO THE UNIT.
