Pending Proposals
Proposal on how to write a Proposal:
Purpose:
To make clear how to propose things. We have voted so far, but some rules (when a proposal has to be in, etc) are unclear. I propose we official adopt a simple voting system, as outlined below.
Proposal Text:
Proposals are to be written up in two section, clearly labeled as 'Purpose' and 'Proposal Text'. The 'Purpose' section is the why and how of the proposal, info, metadata. The 'Proposal Text' is the exact text of the proposal. Proposals must be posted to either the 'members' or 'discussion' mailing list, and added to the 'Pending Proposals' page of the wiki by *Monday Midnight* before the Wednesday you want it voted on.
Proposal for Voting
Purpose:
To make it totally clear how we vote.
Proposal Text:
Votes can happen any Wednesday when there are 'pending proposals' on the wiki proposal page. Members who cannot make a Wednesday meeting can vote yea/nea via an email to the Secretary up until the voting section of the meeting starts. A vote can happen only if at least 2/3 of members are present or have have voted by email (aka 2/3 quorum). A vote needs to passed by 2/3 of the people who have voted. 'Core Members' can veto a proposal if they give a clear and specific reason. They may be asked to put the reason into writing for the record. A Core Members veto can be overridden by a vote of the Board, or if every member (except that single core member) voting for the proposal.
